You acutally Need to groom your dog pretty much everyday.
3-4 days if you cant everyday If you got a puppy play with his or her nails. So instead of watting to go to vets to clip them you can.
Also watch out for the quick (blood) black nails are hard to see since its black
white are easier to see.

Yes I do.But its fun for them I hope,they like being brushed,clipped but the toenails,that they don’t like.

all purebreds started out as mixed when they were started you don’t just breed a dog and say there’s a purebred.and have been bred so much that now the breeds are so loaded with health problems from inbreeding and linebreeding that it’s destroying the health of purebreds.byber have bred healthier dogs and will keep breeding healthier dogs as long as reputable breeders inbreed and linebreed.

My fiance’s parents dogs have always been trusted to walk outside and come back in without a leash. My friends dog and 1 of my dogs can do this as well, but the other 3 dogs are clueless (they are a bit young).
Can this be trained or is everyone else just fortunate unlike me? I live in an apartment with a nice side yard (with no fence).
It’d also be nice to take my other 3 dogs to the park some day to play fetch.
My trustworthy dog is a basset/beagle, other’s are a border collie mix.. mini dachshund and beagle/rat terrier mix.
Years of being alive and trusting you. Also a perfessional, check your local pet stores for pet training programs.

How do I keep my dog which is in heat clean? (both for her and my house!) Is it okay if she keeps on licking her private part to clean herself up? She vomited today and I wonder if that is because she keeps on licking. Thanks!
Oh ya, she’s 11 months old and this is her first heat.
They make little diaper like pads that can be used on dogs while they are in heat. It prevents her from bleeding on everything in your house. It’s normal for her to lick herself. That’s her way of keeping herself clean. Keep her in your site outside because she can become pregnant very easily right now. You don’t want any unexpected pregnancies and she’s rather young to be pregnant as well. After her heat cycle is done (in another 2 weeks or so) take her to the vet and have her spayed. This way you wont have to go through these messy heat cycles again and you wont have to worry about your dog becoming pregnant. Also it’s healthier for her because it decreases her chances of getting mammory gland cancer. Good luck

I once heard that many dogs can be physically different due simply to nutritional differences. However, this doesn’t really explain dogs of different breeds.
So, why do different breeds of dog look so much different from each other? To compare, humans do not have that much diversity.
Its because of thousands of years of selective breeding of wolves from all over the world 
ADD: According to The New Encyclopedia of the Dog (aka my bible) modern dogs originated from four species of wolf- North American Wolf, Chinese Wolf, Indian Wolf and European Wolf.
Heres a passage from the book;
Natural environmental pressures resulted in the wolf becoming small, relaxed with humans and sociable, but it was only after many generations of selective breeding by humans that the great diversity of dog breeds developed. Intensive selection increased barking, valuable as a warning signal. Lopped ears and different tail carriage were also selected to distinguish domesticated dogs from wild canids. The size of the frontal sinuses on the head increased for no apparant reason, other than to make the dog appear more intelligent. Initially, dogs were diminished in size, with the creation of miniatures and dwarfs. At a later stage, size was enhanced, producing todays giant breeds
